This training is designed to support the successful implementation of the secondary transition process by increasing the knowledge of speech-language pathologists regarding legal requirements and best practices regarding secondary transition. Participants in this course will examine the requirements for secondary transition, based on the IDEA definition and Indicator 13. They will discuss the members of the transition team and identify the transition coordinator at their local educational agency (LEA). The steps of the transition planning process will be introduced, and communication connections made with each component of planning.
