PAI and APR (Attract, Prepare, Retain)

Attract, Prepare, Retain

The PaTTAN Autism Initiative (PAI) is dedicated to enhancing the field of special education, particularly autism support, by empowering and supporting teachers through evidence-based practices grounded in the principles of applied behavior analysis. Our unique, on-site consultation model ensures that teachers receive hands-on coaching and real-time feedback in their everyday classroom environments, equipping them with skills to effectively respond to challenges and ultimately to stay in their jobs longer. Recognizing the high burnout rate in special education, we are committed to helping educators avoid burnout by providing proactive support and resources. By preparing educators not only to address issues as they arise but also to prevent problems and develop instructional programs tailored to successful student outcomes, we foster an environment where teachers feel confident and capable. Many of our consultants come from backgrounds as teachers, related service providers, or administrators, providing them with firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the challenges educators face. This shared experience fosters a supportive environment where teachers feel truly understood and valued, contributing to higher retention rates and a more sustainable workforce in special education.

In the following PaTTANPod episode, we'll explore how our on-site, hands-on consultation model empowers educators with real-time feedback and coaching in their classrooms. You’ll also hear from three Pennsylvania educators who explain what impact the consultation from PAI consultants have had on their school year and their careers!

Join us to see how PAI is making a meaningful impact in the world of special education.
