All Pennsylvania schools should provide a safe, supportive, and healthy learning environment that fosters the academic, behavioral, and social/emotional development of our students. Schools should be a safe haven for students that is free of bullying, harassment, and violence based on identity and disability status. PBIS offers a systematic framework to embedding safety and bullying prevention programs in schools. Check out resources below for information on integrating school safety and bullying prevention programs within your framework:
Safe2Say:
Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.
Visit the Safe2Say website for more detailed information.

The Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a team process used to mobilize school resources to remove barriers to learning or success. SAP is designed to identify academic, social, attendance, substance use, mental health, and other concerns which pose a barrier to student success. The primary goal of the Student Assistance Program is to help students overcome these barriers so that they may achieve, advance, and remain in school.
As more schools implement SWPBIS, the question arises as to how these programs can work together. This section of the website will include resources as they are developed to assist you in this process.
If you need additional information on SAP please contact your PNSAS Regional Coordinator.
