Resilience, Empowerment, and Natural supports for Education and Work (RENEW) is a structured school-to-career transition planning and individualized wraparound process for transition-aged youth (14-21) who may be experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, have a limited social support system, and who have challenges in their home, school, and community.
RENEW works best for youth who have a need to be in charge of their own process and support system. RENEW is often used with youth who have not engaged in or responded to previous supports.
A trained RENEW Facilitator meets with the youth to visually map out their strengths, interests, dreams, and people in their life. This information is used to set specific goals, make a plan, and invite supportive people to help them achieve their goals.
Visit a summary of the RENEW IES Study to understand the efficacy of this person-centered planning intervention for at risk youth.
Contact your local intermediate unit or your regional PaTTAN office for information on RENEW School Team and Facilitator training opportunities. (Currently, the PaTTAN office supports RENEW IU ToTs. We are not running open trainings.)
