During this virtual networking session, paraprofessionals will learn about the antecedent-behavior-consequence (ABC) continuum of behaviors and how to identify a challenging response as early as possible. The presenter will share preventative systems and procedures to minimize interruptions and maximize instructional engagement. Specific strategies for paraprofessionals will be spotlighted and practiced to foster efficient interactions and on-task engagement. Time will be protected for networking and extensions of this learning for the participants.
Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
* Explain the behavior continuum and the connection of Antecedents, Behaviors, and Consequences
* Define behavior in observable/measurable terms
* Discuss the importance of data informed decisions
* Identify Function-Based Interventions that may be used as pro-social replacement behaviors
